Jaguar Goes Electric

As the 50th anniversary marking the launch of the Jaguar XJ approaches, Jaguar has been reimagining this classic sedan. With more luxury car companies taking notes from Tesla’s success, Jaguar is following suit, announcing that the 2019 Jaguar XJ will be a hatchback electric vehicle. This newly redesigned car will have an aluminum frame and twin motors that power all-wheel drive. Jaguar intends on ensuring this car’s output rivals non-electric vehicles to keep with its sports car roots.

This electric vehicle’s range will take you over 300 miles before needing to be charged again. Although this is less than Tesla’s over 600-mile range on the newer models, the choice to cross over to a fully electric engine is unique when compared to other brands Jaguar competes with. It’s projected that electric vehicles and hatchbacks will surpass sedans in popularity in the coming years.
